The covid passport will burst into the day-to-day life of Basques in the coming days. The Basque Government announced in mid-November that it would request the High Court of Justice of the Basque Country to use this official document to access nightlife venues and restaurants with more than 50 diners, although now Urkullu has announced that it will extend it to other activities where a large group of people gather. The objective, to stop the sixth wave of the coronavirus. Initially rejected by the Basque magistrates, the Supreme Court endorsed the measure decreed by the Executive of Urkullu. Once the Executive has the sentence, the covid passport will come into force.

Can they force me to present the DNI when asking for the covid passport?

Given the imminent implementation of the measure, there are numerous citizens who still do not know this document or simply have a piece of paper lost in some corner of the room. For greater comfort, the best option is to have the digital certificate downloaded on the mobile phone.

When downloading the Covid passport, the document that will be saved on our phone or on the computer is a PDF. However, when showing the document, only the QR code will be necessary, which the establishment's staff must scan. In this case it will be very useful to save the QR code on the mobile, so that we can have it at hand with just one 'click'. The most comfortable way to present the covid passport is to have it in a 'digital wallet', an application that will vary depending on whether we use iPhone or Android.

Osakidetza enables several options to download the covid passport in PDF format and then print it. It also offers telematic routes, with and without electronic signature, in addition to the classic face-to-face route through the Zuzenean offices. Of course, it does not allow the option of downloading it directly to the mobile. To do this, it will be necessary to go to the European Get Covid Pass EU page. Being a certificate created by the EU to promote safe tourism between member states, it is Europe that offers the possibility of having the 'covid pass' electronically.

iPhone: wallet or 'Apple Wallet'

If we have an iPhone mobile, the simplest application to store the covid passport will be the wallet or 'Apple Wallet'. To download it, it will only be necessary to enter the Get Covid Pass EU website (https://www.getcovidpass.eu) and attach the passport document in PDF. Before, it will be necessary to follow the steps of Osakidetza to download the document correctly.

- The web offers us two possibilities. Scan the QR of the document or upload the certificate in PDF/JPG/PNG format. The easiest option is the second since the scan requires the use of the computer's cam and the covid passport in paper format.

- Once the document has been successfully uploaded, our mobile will automatically show us the certificate in its mobile version, and on the right margin we will be given the option to "Add" to the portfolio.

- The next step will be to select the operating system option: iPhone or Android. In the case of iPhone, with the mobile phone we will focus on the QR and a link will appear to save the document in the 'Wallet' application that all Apple terminals have installed as standard.

Android: Google Pay or YourWallet

To obtain the covid passport on an Android phone, the steps to follow will be practically the same as in the previous case. You will first have to download the PDF through the Basque Government's website and then go to the European page.

In the case of Android mobiles, there are several applications that can be used as a wallet. Some free applications that fulfill this function are Google Pay or YourWallet. This last option can be downloaded here.

In the same way as iPhone users, those who have a mobile with Android operating system will be able to attach their PDF passport to the Get Covid Pass EU website (https://www.getcovidpass.eu) and it will create a digital version automatically.

- Once we have installed the YourWallet application, we will scan the QR generated on the EU website and, as happens on the iPhone, the option to save the covid passport on the mobile phone will appear.
