Less than a month after the presentation of the new iPhone 13 – Apple always launches in September, an open secret came to light. The most nostalgic hoped that this model would mark the return of Touch ID, but instead the apple firm will choose to improve its facial unlocking technology.

And although it was made public that Apple was testing this feature, the project, for the time being, was discarded. At least that is what Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg journalist, indicated in his latest weekly bulletin.

The problem is that many of their competitors have been perfecting these readers for at least three generations. Not including it can make it lose value. Even some of its direct rivals, such as Samsung, already include this fingerprint reader in some of the mid-range models, such as the Samsung A52.

The Touch ID was removed from the iPhone after the arrival of the iPhone X, the first phone with hardly any frames on the front. Instead of moving the reader to the side or back, Apple opted for three-dimensional facial recognition with Face ID.

Among the leaks surrounding the iPhone 13, it is expected to come with a mode to have the screen always on, a refresh rate of 120Hz and significant improvements in the battery, one of its weakest points.
