We are going to explain how to activate the activity log of your applications in iOS 15, one of the features of the new version of Apple's operating system. It is a new function that will allow you to know when your applications access certain information, such as your location or your microphone.

In addition to this, the function also registers when the applications or websites that you visit within the apps contact other domains sharing that information. Activity logging is turned off by default, and you have to find the option to turn it on manually. In this case, you are allowing Apple to have access to everything your applications do, but if you trust certain apps less than Apple, it can be useful.

Use the activity log of your apps

The first thing you have to do is enter the iOS Settings application. Once inside, click on the Privacy section, which will appear with a hand icon. It's in the same block of sections where you'll see General at the very top, but at the bottom.

Once you are inside the Privacy section, you have to go all the way down. There, click on the option to Record the activity of the apps, which will appear right at the end.

When you enter Log app activity, you will see that nothing appears on the screen, just a single option. What you have to do is activate that option to Record the activity of the apps by clicking on the switch that it has.

And that's it. From now on, under that activation button you can click on the option to Save the activity of the apps to download a text document in which you can see the data that the applications have been collecting and how they may have spread it. Below the button you will have a small text indicating how many days is the activity that has been saved.

If you tap Save app activity, you'll go to the iOS save and share menu. Here, you can choose to save the file directly to Files, to save it in the memory of your mobile. But you can also send it through other applications, even to yourself.
