Over time, our phones accumulate a huge amount of photos and videos. It is difficult to properly manage and organize photos when using multiple applications and mobile phones. Result: you inevitably end up with duplicate photos on your mobile, taking up space unnecessarily.

If you want to find and remove duplicate photos on your Android mobile phone, there are several apps that can help you including Google Files which in many cases comes pre-installed. We will tell you how to do it with Remo Duplicate Photos Remover which is one of the most effective apps and it's also free.

Find and delete identical photos

Remo Duplicate Photos Remover is a free app with only one function: it scans your gallery for identical or very similar photos. It is a free app and performs an in-depth search which sets it apart from other apps that may leave similar photos behind. You can download it for free from Google Play.

Remo for removing duplicate photos

The app is in Spanish (with a few skips) and is very easy to use. As soon as you open Remo Duplicate Photos Remover, you have to hit the Scan button and wait for it to finish analyzing the photos stored on your mobile phone.

This first search focuses on duplicate photos that are identical, that is, they are literally the same file with the same photo. The search doesn't take that long: it will end in about a minute depending on how many photos you have on your mobile.

When finished, you will see a summary with the number of duplicate photos and the amount of space they take up. Press Agree and you will see a list of all of them. You can use the menu ⋮ to automatically select all copies or make a manual selection.

Check the box next to the clone you want to delete, and when you select all of them, click the trash can button on the bottom bar. You have to confirm your intention and then you will delete the identical photos that you had duplicates.

Look for duplicate photos that are very similar

The above analysis looks for photos that are absolutely identical, but sometimes it happens that you have the same photo multiple times but with different variations. For example, a random burst photo, the day you got excited about taking multiple photos of the same, or you have the same photo slightly edited in various applications.

To do an in-depth search of similar photos, tap the Similar tab. In the window that opens, tap Scan Now and wait for the scan to finish. This time the application needs to carefully go through all the photos, so it takes a long time.

As before, you will see similar photos grouped together so you can choose which ones you want to keep and which ones you want to delete. Remember that these photos are not identical but similar, so review them carefully to make sure that the ones you want are you intend to delete are redundant.
