Honor wants to consolidate itself in the market as an independent brand compared to Huawei by managing the property that many users need: Google services.

To do this, it launches the Honor 50 series, with full Android and all the applications we already know but which the previous owner forgets due to the US veto.

After reviewing the standard model at NIUSGEEK, we now have a little brother, the Honor 50 Lite, which is not exactly lighter or large, but with a lower spec. A great contender for the middle class or a cell phone to be forgotten?

Design

Honor 50 Lite is elegant on the front and - we will say - "subjective" on the back.

For now we have a beautiful 6.67 ”IPS LDC screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2376. The nice thing is that it has a very small frame, so thanks to these small frames, all multimedia will be used to the maximum.

Another curiosity is that the front camera will not be in the top center of the screen, but on the left, as we saw recently on the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. An interesting but effective decision.

On the back we mentioned that it was "subjective" as not everyone will like the large round module for the four front camera sensors. This sector does not stick out unpleasantly, but visually it can be a bit "aggressive" for many.

I especially liked postmodeling. The tested equipment was ruled by black polycarbonate acting like a mirror, of which I have only a complaint that it absorbs a lot of user fingerprints. Fortunately, the Honor 50 Lite case brings us a built-in case, which I recommend to use.

We walk by the sides. On the top, next to some speakers, you'll find a practical 3.5mm headphone jack. On the right side we have a classic configuration of the volume +/- buttons and a fingerprint sector that also works as a lock / unlock button. Works fine, with localization, which we already have to get used to as it appears on more and more computers, and to its use I add facial recognition, which surprised me with its speed and efficiency.

While there are no major applications on the left, the bottom is filled with a SIM card module, a USB-C port, a reset button and the largest loudspeaker, taking into account that there is no room to add internal memory.

Recenzja Honor 50 Lite: Świetne szybkie ładowanie w cieniu procesora

The name "Lite" of the equipment is not due to weight or size: this phone weighs 192 grams, more than 175 grams of the standard Honora 50, and measures 161.8 x 74.7 x 8.5 mm compared to 160 x 73.8 x 7.8 mm from his brother.

Still, the grip and handling of the hardware are very comfortable, with a low probability of slipping, and when it comes to resistance, it shows it's a solid cell phone.

I cannot close this section, not to mention the great similarity of the Honor 50 Lite to the Huawai Nova 8i. Whether it's good or bad, it is a fact in line with the internal hardware of the model.

Performance

Honor 50 Lite has proper multitasking, but not outstanding, especially for heavy programs and applications.

Is there a reason? Chip. The team has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662. This processor is a bit weaker in the large-application market, especially in the gaming market. And to that we add - although it is not necessary yet - that it does not accept 5G.

I don't want to sound disturbing: I've played Pokémon Unite, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Rocket League Sideswipe on average graphics, but with a warm-up on my PC and a few frozen screens. The problem is already a bit more noticeable in games that require higher-quality graphics.

The occasional gamer may not have that much trouble, but it's not a hardcore gamer gear, yet the rest of the combinations, such as being on different social networks, aside from background add-ons like Spotify, won't be much of a disadvantage.

Asking for more power is not a whim, but rather a market. For example, another detail that I like about the team but whose competition is very strong is the screen.

IPS looks great with a ratio of almost 94% to body, but we don't have a refresh rate higher than 60 hertz, which would be welcome on mobile. Obviously good colors and good multimedia reproduction, with perfect brightness for indoors, albeit a little weaker outdoors. I am adding a stereo speaker to the request.

On the other hand, having Android back is perfect. Honor customizes it with a layer called Magic UI, which isn't invasive like the others (I'm talking to you, MIUI) nor does it hold on to as many heavy tools that tend to hinder the experience. minimalist in many details which i like but still needs some detail refinement and some feature enhancement like game mode to take screenshots or video record quickly.

Great on drums. Where it stands out as if it was high-end, it is under load. The device has a battery with a capacity of 4300 mAh, powered by a 66W quick charger that charges up to 40% in less than 15 minutes and up to 100% in less than 40 minutes . Golazo! The band's autonomy was not a problem and I felt I was doing my best.

But the cameras also owe us, and in the photographic section, cameras perform well, if not spectacularly.

The Lite version has a 64-megapixel main sensor, although with the same wide-angle, macro and bokeh sensors as the Honor 50. We have a 32MP sensor in the front camera.

One problem I had was that portrait mode was not working on my PC: there was no bokeh effect and it only worked with the "Beauty" filter. I saw some unboxing on YouTube and a few bloggers had the same problem, so it's probably a lack updates for review teams, so the user won't have a problem with that.

Something I don't want to miss in the rear camera is that it is not affected by the headlights or spotlights in the auto version, which happens to the selfie camera, so be careful where you take the photo.

The macro sensor works in full, while the wide-angle sensor is much more noticeable to the fisheye than in other devices.

About Night Mode Pros and Cons The truth is that it greatly improves photos in the night settings, but it's very slow, with over 5 seconds of processing after taking a photo.

Something to improve is video as well, with maximum 1080p recording quality at just 30fps.

Is Honor 50 Lite worth it?

Honor 50 Lite is not a bad device, it even has attractive aesthetics and good advantages such as its autonomy and almost bezel-less screen, but it has some limitations in an increasingly competitive market and better prices. Although it has performed well, it did not stand out in my daily life so unless I found it with great discounts I wouldn't have it as one of my first options.
