If I had to summarize my experience with Samsung's 'The Frame' in one sentence, I would say that it is a television that becomes a work of art.

At CNN Underscored in Spanish we had the opportunity to test this Samsung screen with 4K QLED technology and that can only mean: vibrant colors, sharp images, deep blacks and also quick access to many streaming services through the intelligent interface . I spent a week with the 65-inch screen which, while not cheap, is extremely worth it.

The Frame is a television for anyone willing to pay good money for any of its various presentations ranging from 43 to 65 inches. Right now you can find the 50-inch one on Amazon for MX$26,399 USD$1,147.

It's a great-looking TV that doubles as a piece of art when turned off with its customizable art mode, where you can choose from over 1,000 works that appear on screen in a matte hue . Although some of the paintings are free, to access more content you will need to pay a subscription.

The Frame is a model that focuses on art mode design and functionality. It meets the requirement of providing 4K images, which is ideal for movies, series, and even connecting your next-generation console. Although it offers a great image, the problem comes when you play content that is not in optimal quality, since squares or spots tend to be seen in black tones, and excessive dots are seen on the skin of the characters.

For a more artistic touch, Samsung is selling frames that attach to the edges of your television, which add a greater sense of having a work of art in your home, especially if you mount it to a wall and don't put it on a table. The company offers various designs such as a black frame, a white frame, and a brown frame.

Another central aspect of the design is that it is completely designed to be mounted on the wall leaving the installation flush and giving the appearance of being a painting and becoming the centerpiece of the room, even when it is turned off and with art mode asset.

It has a single port on the back of your TV and uses a connection called "One Visible Connection" which consists of a thin cable that goes from your screen to the One box Connect, in which all the HDMI ports and other inputs are and which is included in the package.

Samsung relocated all the ports on this piece of hardware. I found it a good solution and very useful for cable management. Also, when connecting a game console and other devices like the Google Chromecast, this box quickly identified it and had it set up in a few minutes.

If you do not want to place this television on your wall with the included brackets, it is also possible to put the two legs that come in the box and install it on a table or piece of furniture.

Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' is one of the works Samsung lets you put on your TV for free, but for $4.99 a month you can get access to the entire art store that encompasses paintings and photographs.

I spent some time looking through the various free art options and it really looks amazing in the middle of the room and becomes the focal point of the room. In 65 inches I was able to observe details of the sea, birds, the movement of the brush on certain works and many more details.

If you subscribe to the service, it's important to know that Samsung adds new artwork frequently. The television has 16 GB of internal storage for your art store and also so that you can upload the photos you have on your phone from the SmartThings application for Android or iOS, but it is very easy to do.

When you activate Art Mode, the screen brightness adjusts to that of the room you're in. If it is at night, the lighting will have a lower level, but during the day it will have a brighter appearance, to achieve these changes it uses a light sensor.

The experience created with this TV is nice and definitely gives a bigger change to the room compared to looking at a black box on a table or on the wall.

Is The Frame worth it?

If you care about design, Samsung's The Frame might be a perfect touch for you. It combines a truly next-level design that not only exudes warmth, but adds something artistic to your home, with a large 4K panel and the unique functionality of Art Mode.

It's not the cheapest and its frame is sold separately, but it's worth it for the image quality you'll get. The image is incredible in 4K and HD content, however it is noticeable when some content falls short for the quality of this screen.

One factor I found is that the bottom of the TV gets hot when it's on all day. Also, I advise you not to put it near a window, since the speakers are located in the back and the audio might not be distributed very well.
