Performance, battery life and load
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is an exceptional product. It has a Snapdragon 845 processor inside with 6GB and 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 512GB of storage. To help distinguish it from other “stars” of Android - which they have the same 845 processor - Samsung has included a special water cooling system that allows it to increase its performance for a longer time. This phone has no problem running the latest in video games, and comes out and enters the applications with total ease.
For its part, A12 Bionic of Apple is the fastest processor of all.It is significantly faster than Note 9, and we found it very soft when using it in the real world. The iPhone XS Max also has 4 GB of RAM and comes in varieties of 64 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB.The disparity in RAM is not significant, since iOS and Android handle memory administration differently, although one of the advantages of Note 9 is the storage expansion option through the MicroSD card slot.
Note 9 has a 4,000 mAh battery with fast charge support through Quick Charge 2.0 of Qualcomm, also wireless load Qi.The XS Max has a 3,174 mAh battery and also offers Qi wireless load and fast charge, but you will have to buy a fast charger and a separate cable to enjoy it.Both will endure for a whole day, but it is very likely that they require a night load.
The additional dynamism in the performance scores (daily use) of Apple's phone gives you victory.
Winner: iPhone XS Max
Design and durability
The design of the iPhone XS Max is like that of a large iPhone X.It has the Edge-Toge screen at the front, with the notch or notch for the Truedepth camera that allows the faceid. Its frame is made of stainless steel and there is a back of glass with a double lens camera module in the upper left. Here you will not find a digital footprint sensor or a headphones, and Apple no longer includes the 3 adapter.5 mm for headphones in the box.
Samsung has refined its design with Note 9, although it is a bit more angular than the S9.The screen curves in the frame, and the glass on the back is also curved, which makes it thinner than it is, while making it more comfortable to maintain than the iPhone XS Max.There is still a port of 3.5 mm for headphones and a fingerprint sensor on the back, this time below the central camera module.
Apple's design feels fresher and, in general, we like more, but Samsung's phone is more comfortable to manipulate, which is still important on such a large phone. In addition, it maintains a headphones connector.
Being honest, neither of them will support a more or less strong fall, so they are advisable - almost imperative - the protective covers.Of course, both have an IP68 rating, which means that they will survive a dip, and the rain will never be a problem.
Winner: tie
SCREEN
The 6 6 Super Amoled screen.4 inches of Note 9 has a maximum resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels, and is perfect. It is very clear, very bright and has excellent color precision. The iPhone XS Max screen is a 6 6.5 inches with a resolution of 2688 x 1242 pixels. No one will feel disappointed with this presentation, but Note 9 has a slight advantage and the victory is taken here.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy Note 9
CAMERA
The Samsung Chamber combines a 12 megapixel lens with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a variable opening of F/1.5 to f/2.4 With another 12 megapixel lens with an opening f/2.4 and ois.Photography with little light is its strong point and there is support for a 2x optical zoom. There are some artificial intelligence functions to identify scenes and edit failures. It also comes with an 8 megapixel front camera quite capable.
The iPhone XS Max combines an objective of 12 megapixels with an opening f/1.8, with a teleobjective of 12 megapixels with an opening f/2.4, both with ois.On paper, it is the same camera as the iPhone X, but Apple has used a new sensor that, combined with a faster processor, sets the exposure better than ever. The selfie mode is also remarkable, since it allows you to take photos of people and adjust the blur of the background after. The front camera has a capacity of 7 megapixels.
It is increasingly difficult to choose the best camera, and that is because the general quality level has risen in recent times. With the improvements that Apple has achieved this year, we believe that the XS Max is the one that will take the best photos, but this is a category very close to the draw, and we are almost sure that there will be situations in which Note 9 will get better results.
Winner (Little): Apple iPhone XS Max
Software and updates
Note 9 has Android 8.1 oreo with a higher user interface. Permite una gran cantidad de personalización y tiene muchas funciones, aunque no estamos para nada interesados en el asistente de voz de Samsung, Bixby, que mantiene su propio botón.We are not sure when Note 9 will receive the latest Android 9 update.0 foot.
Apple's iPhone XS Max is launched with the last iOS 12.When there is a new version of iOS, it will be implemented directly on the iPhone and we hope you continue receiving updates for longer than Note 9.
Beyond that, choosing Android or iOS has to do here with personal preferences.
Winner: Apple iPhone XS Max
SPECIAL FEATURES
Samsung's smartphone really shines in this item with its Optic Pen pencil that takes notes and sketches, and also works as a Bluetooth remote control. Then there is Dex's support, which makes Note 9 an improvised desktop.Note 9 also has facial unblocking options and iris scanning.
Apple's Truedepth camera offers soft facial recognition such as silk, a system that is also safer than Samsung's.It is also compatible with animoji and Memoji, both superior to Samsung's arm. However, Note 9 has many more special characteristics to offer.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy Note 9
PRICE
Large phones mean large prices.Note 9 starts at $ 1,000, and the iPhone XS Max starts at $ 1,099.512GB models cost $ 1,249 and $ 1,449, respectively, so Samsung's smartphone is the most affordable of the two.You can both get them in all the main US operators.UU.
General winner
This is possibly one of the most tight comparisons we have ever made, since the differences between these two phones are minimal. The iPhone XS Max advances in performance, camera and software updates, but the Note 9 has a slightly better screen and unique special features. Most of the "victories" are by a very narrow margin, so, if you like Android, and you think you will take advantage of S Pen, then you should probably choose Samsung's phone.Apple fans, obviously, will hallucinate with the XS Max, but if you are really undecided between these two, we believe that the iPhone will better adapt to most people.
